Another Twilight Cover

I shot this cover a while back and the book is finally going to be released in April 2011, "The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide".

Here is the press release:

NEW YORK, NY (October 6, 2010) — Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group, has announced today at the Frankfurt Book Fair that it will release The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide by Stephenie Meyer on April 12, 2011. This definitive encyclopedic reference to the Twilight Saga is the only official guide and is full color throughout, including nearly 100 full-color illustrations and photographs. The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide will be released in hardcover for $24.99 and also be available as an e-book.

The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide provides readers with exclusive new material and everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. The Guide also includes character profiles, outtakes, a conversation with Meyer, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more. Originally announced as "The Official Guide," The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide includes illustrations from several artists, including Young Kim, the illustrator behind the #1 New York Times bestselling Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1.

"I'm always amazed at how many in-depth questions my readers have about my characters and the world within the Twilight Saga," said Stephenie Meyer. "With The Official Illustrated Guide, I hoped we could incorporate as many details as possible, including character histories, like Alice's back story. I'm thrilled with the different artistic interpretations done by Young Kim and the other talented illustrators, including Bella's wedding dress. I hope the fans feel it was worth the wait!"

In five years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The Twilight Saga's translation rights have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 116 million copies have been sold worldwide...

Digital Camera Magazine

China's Digital Camera Magazine published a small article on my Bigfoot series.

Here's a rough translation:

For the popular vampire novel "Twilight" novel cover photo shoot photographer Roger Hagadone of the United States seems to be a love film with the monster-related topics, in his private film project "Bigfoot", the North American people are familiar with the legend of the monster star full taste. Roger is also the scene of the shooting using the film, tells the fictional story of a weird funny, I do not know for what reason Bigfoot out of the forest, into the daily life of a small town, this group of pictures in his story, although is still grim, also because of the morning alarm clock awakened and smashed, but this monster has emerged from the vampires, werewolves a class of eerie, but town residents and live in peace, people rightly be regarded as a member of the town, whether it is Bigfoot and the little girl's play, cut the hair or to the barber shop, have revealed a strong expression of the photographer and the monster you want to form a great contrast to the mischievous looks cute personality....

Ok, enough about my "love film with monster related topics"...

Latest Mr. Bricks Movie Poster

Here is the latest poster for Mr. Bricks, I shot the images back in June. World premiere of Mr. Bricks, A Heavy Metal Murder Musical is scheduled for late fall. My buddy Tim Dax is starring in it. Tim is also making a cameo appearance in my upcoming short, BrewView, more on that soon...

Mr. Bricks centers around a drifter named Eugene Hicks, better known on the street as "Bricks." Bricks (played by the inimitable Tim Dax) becomes hopelessly entangled in a bizarre love triangle involving himself, Scarlet (played by Scream Queen Nicola Fiore) a female police officer who is the object of his desire, and Dukes, Scarlet's partner on the police force and the man keeping her away from him.

Complicating the matter is that while both men have deep feelings for Scarlet, she, in turn, has deep feelings for them, despite the fact that her relationships with each of them are incredibly volatile. With one bullet in his head and an accumulating amount of murder charges, Bricks makes it clear that he will stop at nothing to get to Scarlett and make anyone standing in his path pay with their lives; brick by bloody brick, he'll get his revenge.

Accompanied by a completely original heavy metal score, composed by the film's writer and director, Travis Campbell, Mr. Bricks is set in the gritty side-streets and other locations in and around Long Island City, New York. It's G.G. Allen meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Here is a teaser vid... warning, it's a scosche violent. :)

Addy Awards

The Blue Man Group campaign that I shot is a project that keeps on giving... Just found out that it won SEVEN Addy Awards! Five gold and two silver. Woot, woot!

Fish heads!

Shot a series of portraits for a new "Evolve" campaign for Legal  Sea Foods.
A combination of special fx makeup and retouching... nothing fishy.

Pharma Ad

A recent pharmaceutical ad shot for Pfizer.

Twi-Tats

What freaks me out?... Twilight tattoos. The thought of my photographs permanently tattooed on a person's body is bizarre... dare I say, Twi-tarded. Occasionally people email me pics and I'm always surprised to learn that there is another one out there... Here are several of them, the good and the bad... mostly bad.

GOLD, baby!

Just heard that the Blue Man Group / Las Vegas campaign that I shot for Cramer-Krasselt won the Gold OBIE Award in the amusement and entertainment category.  The OBIE Awards are presented by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America for... you guessed it, outdoor advertising such as billboards. You can check it out here.

Mr. Bricks: A Heavy Metal Murder Musical

Shot this for Tim Dax, a friend staring in the soon to be released indi film, "Mr. Bricks: A Heavy Metal Murder Musical". That's right, heavy metal murder musical...

Pregnancy girdle

Recently shot for Bust Magazine for their Museum of Femoribilia... a maternity girdle from the 50's.

rip off

I gave an interview last month and one topic we touched upon was artists "borrowing" from other artists. My view is that finding inspiration from other works is normal and expected, although making a copy is not cool. Example... comic from May 2010, my photo from June 2008.

Patrick, If you are going to rip off my photo for your comic at least you could have drawn it better! You did make a little effort by switching the position of the characters... douche.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

The news is out! If you are a Twilight fan you surely know already, Stephanie Meyer's new book was announced today and will be available on June 5th. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, a 192-page novella centered on a newborn vampire introduced in the third Twilight novel, Eclipse.
The best part... I shot the cover!

Wang Newton, Coverboy.

An image that I shot of Wang Newton, aka Mei-yann on the cover of The Stranger...
Yeah, that's right, Mei-yann is a girl. Wang is her comedic alter ego.

Andy Ofiesh - The Naked Comic

For my continuing series on comedians I photographed Andy Ofiesh, aka The Naked Comic. I think this quote sums it up best... "Once a month, [Andy] does onstage what most of us could only imagine in our worst nightmare: naked stand-up-comedy...What's more astonishing is that Ofiesh has persuaded other performers to try nude stand-up, too, and now hosts "the Naked Comedy Showcase." — Nick Zaino, Boston Globe

Yeah, that's right, not only does he do his act in the buff (he's hilarious by the way), he convinces other comedians to bare all for his shows in Boston and NYC. Here is a link to Andy's website.

Tabasco

I have a bunch of new work to post... whenever I can find the time. Here is an ad we recently shot for Tabasco featuring Mike Golic. I have to admit, Tabasco really is good on pizza. Give it a try!

Here is the commercial that was part of the campaign.
